Frequently Asked Questions !
There is great benefit of putting up a Poly/ Net House provided If we don’t take it as a traditional farming and should learn its practices. There are Two main Parts of any successful Green House, One is More Production of Quality Produce and the Second is to market it. Initially for few months, Farmer should learn from the Agronomist about the best practices to get good quality & maximum yield as its practices are different from traditional agriculture.
Better quality gets better rates in market and optimum yield increases the Income. So if a Farmer takes care of his crop well under a Green House, he automatically gets better Income and hence better profitability. For better quality A Farmer needs to adapt good practices and has to be proactive in his approach to safeguard from any disease. With These measures Green House i.e Poly/ Net Houses are no doubt quite successful. You can download Our Brochure on Main Menu to Get to know the Net Income per annum from a Net House
Yes. Bank Finance is available from All Nationalised Banks. Whereas in NHB, taking a loan is mandatory on full Project Cost as the Subsidy is back ended. Maximum loan is upto 90% of Project Cost and minimum loan should be atleast more than Subsidy Amount. In NHM there is generally no compulsion of taking Loan as subsidy is front ended.

Yes, a subsidy of up to 50% on the project cost is available through the National Horticulture Board (NHB). With Pioneer Agritech Solutions’ expertise, we provide complete guidance and end-to-end assistance to ensure smooth availing of the subsidy benefits.
Yes, financing support is available under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) for Net House and Polyhouse projects. With Pioneer Agritech Solutions, you get hassle-free assistance in loan sanctioning. Additionally, farmers and growers can benefit from a 3% interest subvention subsidy under AIF, making the net effective rate of interest just 6%.
Poly House and Net House has its own advantages depending on the weather of the Place. If the temperature of the area is mostly hot and temperature goes beyond 35 degree Like Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, U.P etc. Net Houses are generally good as better air ventilation is there in peak summer months, but area where temperature is generally low/more rainfall is there, around the Year like Himachal, U.K or Hilly Area, Poly Houses are Recommended. For Nursery and Floriculture, only Poly House is recommended irrespective of area. Poly House is costly as compared to Net House and maintenance cost is also more for Poly Houses.
While Vegetables are recommended under a Net House. You can also do Floriculture under a Poly House. Floriculture is not recommended under a Net House because of Rain Water constraint. Flowers like Rose, Gerbera, Lily, Carnation, Marigold etc. are grown under a Poly House. Vegetables Like Cucumber, Capsicum, Tomato, Lettuce, Spinach, Peppers & also fruits like Musk Melon, Strawberry, Papaya etc., can be grown both under a Poly House and a Net House. Whereas for getting Govt. Subsidy, we can start initially with only three crops namely, Cucumber, Capsicum & Tomato and later after getting subsidy.
Yes. Government Subsidy is available through State Government bodies called National Horticulture Mission(NHM) and Central Government body called National Horticulture Board(NHB). Whereas NHB gives Subsidy at 50% on Complete Project, State Government gives Subsidy varying from 50% to 85% depending upon State to State. More Subsidy is available to Hilly Areas. Know more
Pioneer Agritech Solutions Pvt Ltd is totally committed towards Farmer welfare. It is the only Company giving end-to-end solution to Farmer. We have given below some important points about our Company that will help you to decide:
Yes. Company helps you in completing all required documents for Government Subsidy and AIF Approval. Also complete support is given in completing all Bank Loan Formalities. Project Work is started only after getting Go ahead from Government, which is called a GOC/Consent/Work Order, depending upon the Government Body issuing the same.
Yes. Of course you can do but Cost will be slightly higher. Benefit is that you can do two crops at the same time with better control. As per NHB guidelines, Minimum Project area of each area should br 2500 Sq. Mtr.
Drip irrigation is an efficient way to irrigate greenhouse crops as the placement of dripper tubes makes it easy for Growers to deliver precise volumes of nutrient water directly to the root systems of plants. It uses a pressure compensated drip tube system that releases a specified volume of water depending on the amount of water pressure applied to the dripper’s release valve. This allows water and nutrients to be evenly distributed across entire crop. Moreover, it preserves water and nutrients by letting water drip gradually to the roots of plants, via a pipeline installed either just above the soil surface or hidden below the surface. We can also install small sprinklers and mist producing humidifiers or fogging system in the polyhouse.
Yes. You can do and Our Company can provide the same. Costing is higher as compared to normal farming although Government Subsidy is same, means subsidy is not more for Soilless farming. Soilless farming is recommended to normal farmer only if soil condition of land is not appropriate for farming. Infact you can do other techniques of Hydrponics like NFT system under Poly House/Net House but ofcourse with higher cost. The advantage is better quality, yield with less water usage.
By growing plants in a greenhouse, we are actually creating an ideal eco-system for them, the idea is to create a space that is ideally suited for the plants that we want to grow in the greenhouse. Plants do grow faster and better in the greenhouse as in a greenhouse eco-system, the temperature is more controlled, the carbon dioxide content is higher as compared to the outdoor which is very important for plant growth. Additionally, greenhouse plants have very low exposure to pests and the atmosphere inside the greenhouse is very humid and special soil management practices are developed which is again beneficial for plant growth. All these factors within the greenhouse contribute to better flowering and fruiting.
The walls and ceiling of a polyhouse are made of glass or plastic. This enables light and heat into the polyhouse. When temperatures get too cold or stay too cold for an extended period of time, it is necessary to warm the polyhouse.
There are many ways this can be done, for example, large containers of water can be placed in the polyhouse so that they absorb the heat in the day and give it off during the night; an extra layer of insulating plastic can be added just around the plants that need the warmth; a wood-burning stove can be used to heat the air in a polyhouse or to heat water that is then piped through tubes in the ground near the plants; the latter can also be accomplished by the use of heat generated by reverse cycle air conditioning. With a suitable method for heating the polyhouse, when this is necessary, it is possible to grow vegetables all year long.
Plants absorb water through their roots for process like transpiration which gets evaporated through the leaves this process is essential for the plants to remain cool. The average humidity for a polyhouse might range from 50-80% depending on the type of crop and it can even go up to 90% for certain crops. In case of low or high humidity conditions the flow of water inside plant gets affected. Low humidity increases the transpiration rate and high humidity can reduce the respiration rate which can damage the plant.
To control humidity most of the high-tech polyhouses are equipped with automated humidity sensor systems but even in normal polyhouses we can control humidity in following ways –
TO INCREASE HUMIDITY
TO DECREASE HUMIDITY
HORTNET project is a unique intervention to accomplish e-Governance in NHM where-in total transparency has been envisaged in all the processes of workflow i.e., online application filing, authentication, processing and online payment to the beneficiary’s bank account through DBT. Web enabled work flow based system for providing financial assistance under MIDH.
Floriculture, or flower farming, is a discipline of horticulture concerned with the cultivation of flowers and ornamental plants for gardens and for floristry, comprising the floral industry. Protected cultivation technology can be utilized for year around production of high value and quality floriculture crops like Rose, Gerbera, Marigolg & Lili etc.
As there is less land to cultivate and the world population is growing at such a high growth rate it is time for us to come up with some new and improved methods of farming to provide for such growing population and that’s where the idea of Hydroponics – the soil less farming technique came into existence. Now the technology or principle behind the working of this system is that there is a continuous stream of water flowing near the roots of the plant and there is plenty of oxygen discharged in the stream of water to provide enough oxygen for the growth of plant, apart from that nutrients are supplied through the stream of water to the roots of the plant from where it can directly uptake all the nutrients.
Hydroponics is a farming system that is gaining momentum in India. The capital cost for hydroponics is subsidized according to the central and state government. Each state has different subsidy schemes. There is no 100% subsidy on any start up, rest of the capital can be taken from the banks in the form finance that will be provided after the practice of full procedure for loan. Most recently Maharashtra government has provided 50% subsidy to farmers those who have adopted hydroponics for growing animal fodder. Also feel free to contact “PIONEER AGRITECH SOLUTION PVT LTD.” for more details on this.
The system of hydroponics is far more efficient than the traditional method of farming and have the following advantages –
Farming has evolved to the next level with the introduction of methods like Hydroponics. “Hydro” which means water and “Ponics” meaning working is that the shortest and most direct interpretation of this method. It essentially removes the necessity for soil because the medium for growth, support, and delivery of nutrition and replaces it with soil. The benefit of this is apparent in the basic consistency of these mediums. Water as a medium comes with features such as great solubility factor and may be controlled to possess minerals except the ones which we add for the advantage of the plant’s growth. The basic difference is that Hydroponic cultivation requires specialized hydroponic equipment, which also optimizes the growing process. The nutrients that are added also can be designed to cater to the plants leafy growth and boost this production even more. A combination of recent agricultural practices, protected farming, and automation of farm processes have greatly brought down the cost of hydroponics farming in India to form it a viable and lucrative business opportunity and profitable deal for farmers.Unlike soil gardening, hydroponics can be done anywhere and by anyone. It reduces the complexity of problem-solving that the traditional soil farming has left us with. Hydroponic home systems are easy to assemble and dismantle to move.
With the continuous and frequent supply of pure water at pH5.5 and the close monitoring of the growth environment, the plants grow faster than in the typical agriculture farms. Their growth cycle is much shorter as they grow in favorable conditions and you can expect a higher yield after the harvesting of crop under hydroponics than what you obtain in traditional farming.Hydroponic farming is particularly important in times of crisis like these. With the scare of COVID-19 infection and mass lockdowns, your home soilless growth system set up can continue to provide healthy and nutrient-rich food.
This method of farming is really beneficial for the cultivation of high value horticultural crops like Kale, Lettuce, Strawberry, Cucumber etc. which all have a rising demand in the hotel and fast food industry. These crops take less space and have high value and are easy to transport as well. The crops that can be cultivated under Hydroponics are as follows –
> Lettuce
> Spinach
> Tomatoes and cherry tomatoes
> Cucumber
> Peppers
> Celery
> Kale
> Peppermint
> Oregano
> Basil
> Sage
> Zucchini
> Spring Onions
> Strawberry
> Capsicum
> Chilli
Nursery is a place where the plants are cultivated and grown to usable size. Nursery techniques involve raising seedling, sapling and graft of economically useful and ornamental plants by applying scientific methods. Many techniques, which are cheaper and effective and are useful in increasing the success rate of graft, rooting of cutting, increasing seedling vigour and reducing transplanting shock. The management of nursery got a status of commercial venture where retailer nurseries sell planting materials to the general public and nurseries which sell only to other nurseries and to commercial landscape gardeners, and private nurseries, which supply the needs of institutions of private estates.
STEPS TO MAKE AN IDEAL NURSERY:-
Experiment has shown that raising seedling in a nursery has a number of advantages as given below –
Water is the most important factor in germination and seedling production but excessive water can be just as harmful as too little water. The amount of water needed depends on the size of the nursery, type of soil, plant species, the number of seedlings and the method of irrigation. More amount of water is required in nurseries which are located in arid regions because the water holding capacity of sandy soils are very low. To prevent seedlings from drying, an unfailing and continuous supply of water should be ensured by the facility of storing water for at least 3 days’ supply in advance. It is also necessary to ensure the quality of water used for irrigation because water with more than pH of 7 favours attacks of several fungi. Watering is done in the mornings rather than afternoon time because the sun will cause excessive evaporation due to high temperature. Symptoms of over watering are slight to severe yellowing and stunted growth. Wilting is one of the early symptoms of under watering. Overhead sprinkler and drip irrigation are the most widely used methods of irrigation for large nurseries because these are most uniform and prevent wastage of water.
Weeds are the plants present in the cultivation area which is out of our interest. They compete with the seedlings in term of nutrients, water and light due to which growth of young plants suppressed because the weeds have better adaptability and usually grow at a faster rate. Problem arises due to grasses or dicotyledonous plants that grow from a root stock. If such a weed is cut off at the ground level, it will sprout again and continue to grow because of the carbohydrates that is stored in its root tissue. One single herbicide cannot control all weed species. Oxyfluorfen, Simazine, and Isoxaben are effective pre-emergence herbicides against broadleaf weeds. Pendimethalin is also a pre-emergence herbicide which is effective in control of grasses and some small-seeded broadleaf weeds. Metolachlor is the herbicide which is used as pre-emergence herbicide for control of nutsedge in nursery crops. Glyphosate and paraquat are non-selective postemergence herbicides which is effective against a wide range of weeds and used as directed spray applications. A thick hedge around the nursery helps keep out weed seeds that is otherwise brought in by wind.
ADVANTAGES
There are seventeen nutrients which are essential for proper plant growth and seedling development. Each plant nutrient is equally important, yet each is required in different amounts. Primary nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are the most frequently required in nursery. Deficiency symptoms could be shown by seedling itself if deficiency of any nutrient occurs. Relevant fertilizer should be applied as per requirement after recognisation of deficiency. FYM, compost, vermicompost are mostly used in nurseries where soils are either too sandy or too heavy and of low quality. It helps to build and maintain good soil structure, improves water holding capacity of the soil and supply nutrients for plants. These organic fertilizers reduce the need for chemical fertilizers and, when mixed with small amounts, dilutes the fertilizer, making it available in much larger useful quantities. Adding of well decomposed manure in the nursery mixture will assure the production of quality and healthy seedlings. In order to boost the rhizome growth, phosphorous must be added while application of urea will result in good vegetative or foliar growth of seedlings. For better growth seedling use bio-fertilizers such as Azatobactor, Azospirillum and Phosphobacteria and VAM.
